Barry Wilkinson
British 1923 - Born in Dewsbury, Yorkshire, England in 1923, Barry Wilkinson attended Dewsbury Art School before joining the Royal Air Force
during World War II. After the war, Wilkinson studied at the Royal College of Art, specializing in stained glass and graphic art. He went on to teach at the Wimbledon College of Art. Wilkinson
spent 11 years in stained glass making and designing, eventually teaching the subject at Wimbledon College of Art, where he was the head of the Graphics Department for several years. This
prolific artist has illustrated several children's books, including The Diverting Adventures of Tom Thumb, The Story of Jonah, Puss-in-Boots, Lazy Jack and The Story of Aladdin. As a freelance
artist, Wilkinson has made transparent illuminated murals for restaurants and the Seattle World's Fair, provided illustrations for the British Post Office, and designed the Christmas decorations
