Gene Jarvis: Rose a Parfum de l'Hay The rose is a flower of colorful history as well as one of beauty, tens of thousands cultivate the rose. One species of this cherished flower that has proved popular is the Ramanas Rose. This species is highly valued as a field hedge. The continuous flowering of its large, magenta-pink bloom and its clover-like perfume make it a favorite among cultivators. The Rose a Parfum de l'Hay, a variety of the prized Ramanas Rose, bears large dark crimson flowers which fill the air with their stong perfume. Blossoms consist of double blooms that flower throughout the season on bushes standing just under four feet tall. Introduced in 1903, the Rose a Parfum de l'Hay is the result of a cross with General Jacqueminot.
